Albert Fett was born on Nov. 1, 1872. SS#  279977. He first became an officer in the SS on April 20, 1937 as a Standartenfuehrer. By Sept. 12, 1937 he was on the staff of the Oberabschnitt Fulde-Werra.

 

The decorative box contains an artistic commemorative portfolio showcasing landmarks & monuments of 3 leadership districts and 74 Kreis (county) districts, with listings of 4487 service incumbents.

 

13.5" long x 10.5" wide x 4.5" high.  34 cm long x 26.5 cm wide x 11.5 cm high

 

Accompanying the box is a descriptive and heartfelt thank you letter dated 4 March 1943, signed by Albert Fett

As Generalleutnant a.D., SS-Gruppenfuehrer, he was in charge of the land district of Fulda-Werra.

 

This land district Fulda-Werra (FW) is located in the center of Germany.

 

The city of Arolsen is Fulda-Werra's Oberabschnitt.

 

Two SS-Abschnitte, within Fulda-Werra, were Kassel & Wiemar.

 

The seven SS-Standarten in Fulda-Werra were Frankfurt (#2), Gotha (#14), Kassel (#35), Gera (#47),  Meiningen (#57), Erfurt (#67), and Giessen (#83).

 

The region encompassed 3 gaus, Gau Kurhessen, Gau Hessen-Nassau, & Gau Thueringen.
