Updates- 1/21/19 A few minor updates today; The two new pieces of Polizei headgear
are now listed in the Headgear For Sale section. Also, a couple of minor additions to the
reference areas include; A new example of Reichsmarschall Hermann Goring’s early
shoulder boards, which can be found in the page
exploring Reichsmarschall
Goring’s Insignia. At the request of a fellow collector, I’ve
also updated the page A Guide to Exploring Original vs. Repro SS Generals
Collar Tabs.
Evidently there has been some mis-information
on the militaria forums regarding a specific
variation of SS Generals tabs that were deemed to be fake, the
so-called “pointy stem tabs” and now that period photos have surfaced
of Sepp Dietrich (no less) wearing these
variations, that rumor can be put to an end.
Of course, there ARE fakes of SS Generals tabs which have pointy
stems, just like there are fakes of SS Generals without pointy stems, but
there are indeed real pointy stems. Also please check below for links to

It’s been a slow summer for the hobby, as usual, but things are

The majority of this material was acquired directly by the collector
and has full provenance. There will be

emails (or no reply), my desktop computer experienced a total failure due to
a recent Windows Update and as a result I’ve had some difficulties in

Officer “Deutschland” tunic to the “Featured Items”
page. I’ve received a lot of inquires
about this piece, so hopefully this feature will answer some initial
questions. Additionally, I have been
working on updating numerous pages in the reference sections to add new items
and expand the overall knowledge base with more and better reference
material. This is an ongoing process,
and always has been, but I hope to be able to dedicate more time to this so
collectors have a more solid selection of items and variations to
examine. I’ve started with the
insignia pages but plan to move on to the uniforms pages and other areas as
time permits. I have plenty of ideas
and plans, it’s just a matter of getting to them.

variations in tailor’s attachment of shoulderboards
to Generals tunics (it also applies to the ranks of Major through Oberst) to show how things weren’t always applied as
collectors expect them to be. In the Premium page of the For Sale section I
have listed a grouping of Heer
Generalfeldmarschall insignia,
of the later, April 1941 pattern (boards in all gold cords with 2nd

section (it was previously part of a grouping). 7/12/17 Welcome to the dregs of Summer in the militaria hobby…..where there’s not much going on except
vacations. There isn’t any new inventory to list today, though I will be

Generals tunic 1957 Knights Cross w/Oakleaves & Swords (2) 1957 Oakleaves 1957 Iron Cross 1st Class 1957 Iron Cross 2nd Class 5/10/17 A small, quick update today. Part of the Admiral von Puttkamer grouping is now available and is
shown in the Premium Militaria
page. For those of you who know your history, you’ll
recognize Puttkamer as Hitler’s naval adjutant, who
was at his side during the July 20, 1944 bomb attempt on Hitler’s life. The grouping was obtained directly from Puttkamer and comes with provenance. 4/13/17 A number of new items have come in, some

There is a nice quantity of high ranking and officer
uniforms recently picked up out of a collection,

Items page. 5/25/16 No new updates today, just a quick note
about being offline for two weeks. The
webhost provider I was using had a massive failure of the server my site was
hosted upon. Unbelievably, especially
when you consider they are in the technology business, this webhost (Arvixe) had no back-up!
Nor did they even bother to alert me about the problem. Needless to say, it has been a
frustrating experience and the results of course are that many customers,
friends and associates were wondering where my site went and whether I had
gone out of business. After two weeks
being offline I was beginning to wonder myself! I am now with a new webhost (the THIRD one
in the last two years), which is a larger firm who should (better) have
backup when needed. In the meantime, thanks for checking back
(and to those who checked in by phone) and I hope to have some new updates in
the coming weeks. 4/29/16 All of the items previously unlisted are

Militaria page and a few more exotic pieces in the Premium page. 2/25/16 Having just returned from the Show Of
Shows there are a few new items that were picked up and will soon be listed,
some of which are highlighted on the “New Unlisted
Items” page, including some very rare, high end
pieces such as a DE Standard
and Collar Tabs for a Generalfeldmarschall. More items will be posted in the coming

the Variations of Heer General’s Collar Tab
Insignia, in which I outline some of the various
original collar tabs that were used during the war using comparisons of
period photos and examples from contemporary collections. This year my plan is to continue expansion
of the reference area and document as many variations and odd, non-regulation
uses of insignia, uniforms and headgear.
I’m always looking for photographic contributions so if you have
anything that you think would help towards this project, please by all means contact me. 2/6/16 Today’s update is to the reference
section and is a project I’ve been working on for some time, and which I plan
to expand upon regularly as I come across new additions. It is a page devoted to Exploring
the Variations of Heer General’s Collar Tab
Insignia, in which by using period photos along
with examples from collections and museums I verify some of the variations
that exist in General’s collar tabs.
In the future I also plan on producing similar pages for Luftwaffe
General’s collar insignia. There is already a page devoted to SS and Police
Generals collar insignia, which was so consistent that there is little to no
variation, and can be reviewed in the SS
Generals Tabs; Exploring the Repros versus
Originals page, so please also visit that page if
you’ve never seen it before. 1/26/16 Happy New Year to everyone! Nothing new of note today, just doing a
little site maintenance and cleaning up a few pages. I’ve been at work on some new reference
pages, which I hope to start launching soon.
The first will examine variations on Heer
Generals collar tab designs, using period photographs as well as original
examples. I plan to follow this with an exploration of Luft
General tabs as well. 12/28/15 With all of the holidays both here in the
U.S. and abroad, things have been rather slow in the collecting world, as
you’ve probably noticed while scanning the internet. But after all, it’s the season for giving
to others, and collecting is about giving to yourself! Anyway, todays

documented pieces that are still out there in long-held collections. I was fortunate enough to help one of my
customers acquire this fantastic grouping and provide it a new home, and now

website was down for a few days this week.
The firm that hosts my website had the drive crash and no back-up, so
both the site and my email was down. Things are now back up (obviously) but I am

week and want to thank everyone who came by to say hello. It’s always a pleasure meeting in-person
collectors I’ve dealt with over the internet, which is one of the greater
aspects of doing the show every year.
For those of you who never go to shows I strongly urge you to attend
the SOS at least once, as it’s always a great opportunity to meet and network
with other collectors as well as handle material in person. I have a lot of plans for updating the
reference side of the website this year.
The sales end of the site keeps the doors open and the lights turned on,
but the reference area is an aspect I truly enjoy and from the feedback I get
many of you value what I’ve put together.
It’s not perfect, but the great thing about websites is that they can
easily be updated and errors or omissions corrected….something you can’t do
with books! At any rate, I’ve compiled
hundreds of pictures and contributions from my research as well as that of
others and will be doing a little editing and upgrading, a process long due
in some areas. Last but not least, I have an update to
the website today for new items that have come in over the past few
weeks. The full listings are not yet

there is a lot of militaria
starting to come out of some advanced collections, which I hope to offer over
